ABOUT US
We are twin sisters with over 30 years teaching experience each in a variety of schools. These range , from mainstream Primary and Secondary schools to a Special Needs setting. We became increasingly frustrated at how some children were 'falling through the net' in large classes and not reaching their full potential. This could be due to learning barriers related to SEND or a range of other reasons. We believe that every child deserves to learn in a way that suits them, to be supported, understood and allowed to achieve their goals.

Our aim is to be inclusive and reach out to those children who just don't know how good they are - yet. With this, we decided to set up Dragonfly Tuition Ltd. To help us, we employed the expertise of a few of our trusted teacher friends and colleagues. We are delighted to say that we are growing steadily and are proud of what we have achieved so far.

The dragonfly has been important to us and our family as it became an emblem after our dad passed in 2017. He used to have fun trying to catch dragonflies in the grass with our children when they were younger.
A dragonfly is a symbol of change, transformation, and self-realisation. Whatever the challenge, anything is possible.
Change, transformation and self-realisation.

Amanda ensures she is well prepared for each session, makes the session enjoyable and her calm and nurturing approach to tutoring has resulted in Maths now being my 8 year old daughters favourite subject at school. This much improved interest for the subject has also translated into strong scores at school tests and positive feedback from the school teachers.
Amanda diligently debriefs us on what they have covered each session, areas my daughter has done well and areas where there is scope to further improve. Overall, we could not be happier with Amanda's tutoring. We recommend her highly.

Amanda has been tutoring my daughter who is in Year 2 with her maths for over a year now. The main problem was her lack of confidence and initial panic with learning new material. She has come a very long way since starting. She is now much more able in her abilities, has started to enjoy maths rather than fear it and is happily about to undertake her Year two SAT's.

Claire has been tutoring my daughter
for a year now and there has been such an improvement in confidence, understanding and enjoyment of the subject. Claire is great at communicating with us in terms of what we would like her to cover each week and is happy to adapt with any homework queries. Would highly recommend.

Both of my children have really enjoyed learning with Claire and Amanda. The learning style is flexible and fun, the tutors are experienced in adapting to different learning needs and they are naturals at building rapport. My daughter's confidence in maths has come on a long way and I think her sessions with Claire might be the highlight of her week!
